fill in the blank friday - all about sleep

I haven't done a Fill In The Blank Friday in a while! But here I am with Lauren @ The Little Thing We Do's weekly installment! This week's questionnaire is all about sleep --- mmmm, my favorite activity!

 {pretty bedroom!}

1.  The last thing I do before going to sleep is       kiss my husband goodnight, I just can't sleep unless I do!

2.  When I can't sleep I      move positions a lot, sigh deeply, and usually end up reading for hours or sometimes even going to the gym  .

3.  The first thing I do when I wake up is      potty time {for me as well as puppies}   .

4.  When I'm tired I       cry real easily and can be a beyotch   .

5.  My dream bedroom would be     it's really getting to be my dream bedroom! I want a new fluffy white comforter with a green throw and a white bedskirt. I also want curtains and new MATCHING white shabby chic dressers (instead of this mish-mash hand me down furniture situation...)  .

6.  If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be       on a plane about to embark upon a 6-month all-expense paid trip around the world with my husband {and ideally the puppies would be allowed to go everywhere with us - even into the Louvre!}   .

7.  The longest sleep I've ever had was      when I was in elementary school I was really sick and I went to sleep around 8pm for bed...and woke up at 5pm the next day! Yikes!      .

8.  I sleep on my     side usually to start. Whatever side faces the outside of the bed. But sometimes my tummy. And then my back ends up hurting so I end up on my back. Always with a pillow between my knees!

9.  When I sleep, I like to wear        Long soft shirts or like a little jersey dress from Old Navy  .

10.  My bedtime is usually      10:30ish if I'm not working, if I work a night then bedtime is at 8am!

fill in the blank friday - travel time!

Lauren at The Little Things We Do came up with a GREAT theme this week! All about traveling! I would say that is my favorite "activity" if it qualifies as being such :) Play along this week or next week, if you like! Loads of fun!

1.  My dream vacation would be       a long trip to Europe including extensive travel and relaxation in Greece, Spain, Italy, and Ireland. Those are my next four European countries I'd looooove to hit! Not for a long time, but some day!   .

2.  The best trip I've ever taken was      maybe my honeymoon! What's better than spending a week with the love of your life post wedding-stress?!?! We went to Napa Valley and San Francisco! Wine, food, wine, wine, food...that was kind of our schedule in Napa! Plus, we took a biking tour of the wineries which was so much fun! Good thing we had helmets, I was certainly a little tipsy by the end of the day! They must not administer BUIs there... And San Francisco is my favorite big city yet! It's amazing! Such a conglomeration of different cultures, it was such a blast! I felt at home with my hippy self there :)

Oh and also living in Costa Rica on the beach for 6 weeks saving the sea turtles wasn't so bad ;) .

3.  The most important items to take on a road trip are       camera, optimistic and flexible travel mates (to counteract my panicky states when plans don't work out as planned), sunglasses    .

4.  The next trip I'm looking forward to is       leaving tomorrow for my first camping trip of the season! YAY! The campsites just opened last week so hopefully we can find a good one! The pups haven't been camping yet and we are going up the Poudre Canyon, it should be wonderful! I'll tell you all about it on Monday!  .

5.  If I had to pick one CD to listen to for a long road trip it would be     definitely Tom Petty's Full Moon Fever and RHCP's Stadium Arcadium :)   .

6.  The biggest disaster I've ever encountered while traveling  was      I feel like there have been disasters but I've forced them out of my memory! lol. One was when driving to Illinois with my family there was a massive hail/rain storm that started up so suddenly! We were boxed in the highway surrounded by semi trucks and cars were sliding all over the place! I was seriously FREAKING out!!!   .

7.  My favorite traveling memory is     This is kind of general.  I love Colorado's climate, but whenever I step off of an airplane and into a new climate, the humidity (usually wherever I go is more humid than here!) hits me in the face and kind of has a strangely intoxicating effect on me. Like I need a margarita and a hammock asap. Love that feeling :) Drunk with warmth!  Take me back, Costa Rica!!! La Pura Vida    .

Where is the best vacation you ever took???
Cheers to your weekend!!!!!

fill in the blank friday - books books books!

Another edition of Fill in the Blank Friday! Brought to you by Lauren :)  This week it's all about books! I LOVE reading, so this is great!

1.  My favorite book growing up was the Babysitter's Little Sister series! I read a few of the Babysitter's Club books, but I was mostly into this spin-off series about the little sister and her mischief. I also read EVERY Sweet Valley Twins book! Loved them. And also Nancy Drew! Both newer and original mysteries, these books were/are so much fun!

2.  The funniest book I've ever read was  the Shopaholic series! Becky Bloomwood is such an outrageous character - she sometimes makes me want to pull my hair out - but her life's mishaps and situations she gets herself into make me laugh and laugh. Also, the Devil Wears Prada - soooooo funny. Is it bad that I get delirious with laughter at other peoples misfortune and crazy life events?

3.  The one book that has truly changed my life is  hmmm...aside from the Harry Potter series creating a complete NERD out of me?!? lol. I would say Eat, Pray, Love has really inspired me to make sure I take that time for me so that I am never in a place where I don't know myself or my wants/needs. It also totally makes me want to travel, and it reminds me of the life experience you can get from traveling to a foreign place a little out of your element.
4.  If you're looking for a real "tear jerker" you should probably read Where the Red Fern Grows!!! I remember reading that in 6th grade and just crying and crying.

5.  If I could meet any author living or dead I would want to meet   Dan Brown. That guy's crazy! I just want to know where he gets his inspiration and ideas and whether he's normal or a pretty kooky guy.

6.  The next book on my "to read" list is   I have tons! The Help. The Potato Peel Society. Sarah's Key. Also some classics that I haven't gotten around to reading yet. And Harry Potter 7 again - just because I love it.

7.  If I was snowed into  remote cabin in the woods and could only choose three books to bring with me I'd bring   The Bible. The Help. Harry Potter series (I'm going to pretend they exist in one REALLY REALLY large volume. lol).

That concludes this week's edition! I am spending some relaxing time with my family and friends this weekend. I got to sleep 12 hours last night!!! Yessss. Off to go to Pier One to see what treasures I can find for my decorating goals! Then gym and a visit to baby Cash! It's going to be a wonderful day!

Happy Friday and happy weekend to you all!
Cheers!
